23/12/2023 at Tirabad/Cwm Dwfnant

Several squares on the edge of Epynt did not give a large diversity of species but some significant counts. Near Tirabad there were a minimum of 280+ Fieldfare with 150+ Starling and 10+ Redwing. In Cwm Dwfnant a tight flock of 90 Siskin, 5 Crossbill a couple of Bullfinch and a probable Marsh Tit in amongst a small mixed flock of other woodland species. This used to be a regular spot for Willow Tit and I was not 100% on the ID as it was not calling but the small burst given and the look of the bird suggested Marsh
