An abundance of Willow Warblers among the 45 species on the two BBS squares north of Bwlch yesterday morning, with 38 singing birds. Also, 6 Swift and parties of 10 and 7 House Martin respectively collecting nesting material from the muddy path. Singing birds included 7 Skylark, 18 Chiffchaff, 11 Blackcap, 3 Garden Warbler, 1 Whitethroat, 3 Goldcrest, 2 Redstart, 10 Tree Pipit, 3 Lesser Redpoll, 4 Yellowhammer, 1 Reed Bunting. Two pairs of Wheatear, including a female visiting a probable nest site, 12 Stonechat pairs on territory and a pair of Spotted Flycatcher along Tremynfa Road, were also of note.
