50 Greenfinch going to roost at Tretower Court.

8 Goldeneye, 8 Wigeon, 9 Teal, 3 Pochard, 29 Tufted, 18 Mallard, 3 Coot, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 4 Grey Heron, 1 Jay and a male Bullfinch. Most of the marsh area is frozen. Ty Mawr pool is frozen holding only 2 Mute Swan and a Grey Heron.

6 Redpoll feeding on Silver Birch in Silver Street. At STW 1 Chiffchaff, 10 Goldcrest, 2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Mipit, 100+ Pied Wagtail and a Dipper on the river.

Dipper - 2 flying around the village at dusk, singing. About 30 to 40m above the ground between the rivers Wye and Dulas. This has happened most evenings since early December.

TTV over 2 hours found 25 species. Best were single Lapwing, Snipe and Woodcock. Also 2 Reed Bunting, 2 Stonechat, 2 Raven, 2 Skylark, 30 Fieldfare - and 8 LTTits feeding amongst Juncus on the hill 400m from the nesrest wood.

The day started well with my first siskins 2male,1female, at the garden feders. A 1/2 hour strole from Crick to Lanngattock produced various tits & finches in gardens, pied wagtail in the school carpark, 2dippers a cormarent,& a kingfisher at the bridge, & several blackbirds & a green woodpecker in church fields

Rather quiet; best were 4 Moorhen, 2 LGrebe, pr Goosander, 17 Mute Swan, 11 Teal. On return to the bridge flushed 2 Green Sandpipers from the flood pools on the Common, and 2m/1f Blackcap on remaining apples in the orchard adjacent. Mild weather encouraged Robins & MThrush to sing, & Gt Sp Woodpecker drumming.

Great morning at Llangasty. Noise from departing east and west Starling roosts was tremendous. A raft of 64 Goldeneye around the point and 26 Shoveler on the far side were both personal bests at this site. Also of note: 1 Kingfisher, 1 GBB Gull, 12 Teal and 8 Pochard.
