1 pomarine skua at garnlydan reservoir, which was mis-identified by myself this morning at a juv great skua. but no sign at 14:00.

'Winter' Atlas visit in neo-tropical conditions!! Bird highlights in tetrad were Snipe, Kestrel, Green Woodpeckers. Most incredible was a Small Heath still on the wing(!!) and, less of surprise, a Red Admiral.

Highlight male eclipse Goldeneye. Also 52 Wigeon, 20 Teal, 11 Little Grebe, 10 Pochard, 15 Tufted, 1 female Goosander, 1 Cormorant, 23 Coot, 2 Mute Swan, 20 Canada's, Grey Heron and a Raven.

19 GC Grebe, 9 Pochard, 9 Teal, 2 Gadwall, 8 Wigeon, 22 Cormorant, 64 Canada's and 98 Mute Swan.

Dusk counts - 114 Mute Swan incl 10 cygnets, 17 GCGrebe, 625 Coot, 950 LBBGull and (oddly) no BH Gulls. At least 15000 Starling that broke into two separate reedbed roosts, one N & S. One Sp Hawk and a Kestrel too.

Little Grebe. diving just 1-2m from shore near boats and then all along the dam wall.

From Scout Lane Brecon down river until path joined canal and so to Talybont. On Usk 11 Goosanders, 6 Dippers, 1 Kingfisher, 51 Mallard. On canal 77 Mallard. Above Llanhamlach 2 Red Kites and 5 of total 8 Buzzards. Most surprising a large bat hunting in bright sunshine, and twice chased by a Pied Wagtail

Forgot to add re. 3-400 Fieldfares commuting from Brecs to Radnor across Claerwen by waterfall. Feeding on Hawthorns.
