Best were 3 Woodcock flushed, 2 prs Bullfinch, 5 Yellowhammer, 15 House Sparrow, 13 Fieldfare and a pair of Reed Bunting (female with ring on left leg).

2 Mute Swan, 5 Coot, and about 30 mature Lesser Black-backed Gulls very close by road; a couple with white heads. Only 1 imm. No duck showing.

cormorants x 3. 1 had a white front seen it also take a really big eel but lose it in the struggle. 3 x goosanders and many ducks as well trying to shelter from the high water

20 Cormorant including 4 'Sinensis'. 3 Pochard, 74 Wigeon, 14 Goldeneye, 11 Gadwall, 35 Teal, 6 Shoveler, 4 GC Grebe and 188 Canada's.

40+ siskin 8 chaffinches 4 blackbirds. two coloured doves, robin. siskin seem to be on the increase daily. looked at the wye to high as it has birst its banks

High water means most duck hidden amongst the rushes - did have 25+ Mallard accompanied by drake Pintail ( probably the Brecon canal basin bird), 11 Goldeneye, 12 Tufteds, 1 Pochard, 11 LGrebe, 12 Coot.

Our bird feeders seem exceptionally busy tody! So far... starling, blackbird, siskins x4, robin, house sparrows and blue tits (some pictures in the gallery)

Photo opportunity! If anyone is interested in close shots of Lesser Redpoll. Daily, two are ground feeding under the last birch tree on right of Cambrian Way as you drive up from Morrisons Filling Station, Brecon town. Sometimes on pavement, or on mown lawns, feeding on fallen birch seeds, they allow close approach.
