Skylark singing once again near the mountain centre.

A Barn owl at Heol las this evening . A kestrel at Cathedine yesterday , 3 male bullfinch at Middlewood lane , a hobby on the Allt , Mistle thrush , Song thrush , dunnock, wren , long tailed tits near the feeder.

A drake Pintail was on the main pond displaying to a female Mallard. Also 44 Mallard, 5 Little Grebe, 4 Moorhen, 2 Canada Geese and a Dipper.

WeBs count today:175 Canada Goose, 60 Teal, 12 Mallard, 2 Cormorant, 2 Mandarin, 1 Grey Heron plus 25 Fieldfare, 2 Buzzard and 1 Red Kite.

2 Chiffchaff were by the Llynfi foot bridge where one was in song! A Curlew was on the flooded sailing club meadow, the Oystercatcher was by the acron jetty, 2 Redpoll fed along the flooded lake margin. A Kestrel was along the Lane to Llangasty and the adult Yellow-legged Gull was in the roost.

Male Marsh Harrier in front of and around the hide, 3 Great White Egret, 1 Scaup, several Pochard, Shoveler, Goosander, plenty of Tufted Duck, Wigeon, Teal, Cormorant, Mute Swan, approx. 15 Snipe flushed from Ty Mawr field, Grey Heron, pair of Stonechat, pair Bullfinch by the hide, several Cetti’s Warbler, Goldeneye, Gadwall, Fieldfare, Redwing. Also Blue Tit, Robin, Wren, Blackbird, Woodpigeon, Pied Wagtail, Moorhen, Coor, Mallard, Great Crested Grebe, Dunnock, Chaffinch and Black-headed Gull.

Between the north end of Beacons and the south end of Cantref reservoirs along the Taff Trail, 35 Crossbill in groups of 15/4/16 and 6 Reed Bunting making their way north.

1 x Barn Owl Hunting low back and forth across rough grass field and then into copse at 16.10.
