Curlew x 2 - together stood right on the roadside as i drove passed the entrance to the sennybridge army range, up on the B4250 this morning at 7am.

Single passage Bar-tailed Godwit and Dunlin on diminishing flood, and 4 Lapwing. One Greylag Goose on SCMeadow.

At Brechfa Pool there were 3 wheatears, 2 pied wagtails, heron and a male mallard on the low/shallow pool. Along Brechfa Common and up Mynydd Fforest there were meadow pipits, stonechats on the gorse, 2 skylarks, a fox and a g . s woodpecker. Below Nant-yr-arian on Waun Diroedd first seen on a young alder tree and then on a hawthorn by the stream ( Ford ) was a common whitethroat ( a first for me ) - gave good views. Heard cuckoo and a green woodpecker. Back at Brechfa Pool a curlew landed searched for food and then flew around the area .

3x Fledgling Dipper, plus an adult diving and hunting for invertebrates and feeding like mad. Very easy to see from the footbridge over the Honddu on the Struet

Sanderling still at Llangasty joined by 9 Whimbrel, and the Black-tailed Godwit on the rushy field has been joined by a Bar-tailed Godwit.

At Llangorse, a female Black-tailed Godwit, Yellow Wagtail and four Lapwings in Rushy Field, two Oystercatchers, one Great Egret and Kingfisher at Acorn. At Llangasty on Point, single Sanderling, Dunlin, Ringed Plover, three Common Sandpipers. Pair of Stonechats in Point Field, two Swifts .

BTO BBS near Forest Lodge gave 25 species with territories of 2 Whinchat and 5 Stonechat. Also 59 Meadow Pipit, 3 Skylark and a Tree Pipit. 2 Cuckoo calling but just 1 Redstart. Also a Curlew calling. Later at Cnwch Wood in the Elan Valley 20 species around the wood with territories of 4 Wood Warbler, 10 Pied Flycatcher and 5 Redstart. Two large rookeries noted along the A470 of possibly 25+ nests noted at Erwood bridge and at the very east edge of Builth Wells.
