Two Hobbies hunting Migrant Hawkers near the Hide, five Yellow Wagtails on the Common, Little Egret on north shore.

Early morning visit to the reserve today produced 600c linnet and at least 300 stock dove all feeding on harvested rape seed field. Otherwise very quiet.

300 Linnet, 2 Whinchat, 3 Stonechat on a Spring Barley/Sunflowers/Fodder Radish/Phacelia bird crop grown under the Glastir agri-scheme. Also a Redstart nearby, Sprawk in Pennorth and 25 Goldfinch on seeding thistle at Pencommin.

50c all sand martins on the River Usk by Christ college this afternoon.

Single Hobby above the reed beds on Llangasty side of Llangorse lake.

An impressive 34 Mistle Thrushes were around the churchyard. Initially counted 4 then more and more kept coming. Also attracted by the berries on the ancient yew were 3 Song Thrush, at least 4 Greenfinch and 3 Blackcap. Two active house Martin Nests there also. Over the two villages this last week at least 75 Hirundines counted regularly. Majority were House Martins.

Green Sandpiper flew up river calling on Afon y Waun this afternoon. Grey Heron about 100m downstream.

At the southern end 1 Common Sandpiper, 12 Tufted Duck, 15 Teal, 14 Little Grebe, 31 Mallard, 2 Mute Swan, 4 Cormorant, 3 Grey Heron and a LBB Gull.
