Libanus, 24.2.21. This double black tagged Kite has been seen on and off near the village for the past year but frustratingly I've not been able to read the tags (I assume this is a Welsh tagged bird at least 3 years old). 11 Herring Gull flew over together, still 50 Linnet on the muddy field and up at the BBNP visitor centre 12 Redwing and 15 Meadow Pipit.

Libanus, 21.2.21. First butterfly of the year for me today with this one that must have emerged from hibernation trying to warm up on my drive. Lots of Skylark around Mynydd Illtyd with low numbers of Stonechat and Meadow Pipit.

A brief window of nice light yesterday before the gloom set back in and lovely to see the profusion of alder catkins out at the moment giving the trees a burgundy appearance from distance - roll on the spring.

Few and far between this winter for me, so a big surprise when this dropped into my garden yesterday. A nice end to a very wet and miserable afternoon in my bird hide.
