suggestions for identification are warmly welcomed, [My thanks to Mark Waldron for 'trawling the net' and coming up with 'Goldfinch mule' a hybrid in the cage-bird industry, based on Goldfinch x Canary (although reported song and the streaked back suggests Linnet). AK/County Recorder] .

a bit of a mixture
This chap has been charming neighbours here in Scethrog with a Linnet type song. It is not a Goldfinch, it is not a Linnet - but is it a cross-breed? I have sent details to the County Bird Recorder. (all images as shot - I have the original RAW files)
