walk this am included 1 kingfisher, 13 mallards, 3 nuthatches, 1 moorhen & 1pied wagtail.

Female Scaup and GN Diver in front of hide. Also 27 Tufted, 1 Goosander, 7 Goldeneye, 9 Little Grebe, 4 Mallard, 7 Canada's, 2 Cormorant, 2 Mute Swan, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Teal, 11 Coot, 17 Pochard, 4 Wigeon, 2 Jay and a Marsh Tit.

Sincere condolences to all of Charles' family and friends. A walk aorund Island Fields and back up the canal produced 124 BH Gull, 1 Grey Wag, 7 Grey Heron, 6 Goosander, 1 Moorhen, 11 LT Tit, 2 Dipper (1 in song), a pair of Siskin, 2 Kingfisher and a flock of 10 Bullfinch. At the STW 10 Meadow Pipit and 2 Grey Wag's on the beds amoungst all the Pied's. 193 Mallard along the canal.

After reading the front page for the first time this month I want to also offer my condolances to his family and all those that knew Charles Allum, he illuminated the pages of this site with his interesting observations and will be missed greatly. RIP.

walk arround Crickhowell this am. started in my garden with a greater spotted woodpecker on the peanuts, a female blackcap feeding on an apple, a nuthatch on the sunflower kenals, and one siskinat the niger seeds, my first this winter. Crickhowell bridge produced 1heron,1 cormerant, 5 gooseanders, 1dipper and apair of mallards.

In a similar situation to Sue's report from Crickhowell yesterday, 60 Lapwing, 4 Golden Plover and small numbers of thrushes and Starling fed on thawing south-facing pasture and stubbles this am. Another 10 Lapwing flew west.

Driving home in the slush from Brecon about 16.30 two Snipe flew low across the road, one at Bishops Meadow and one half a mile before Felinfach.

Flock of 50 lapwings flew up from field . 20 flew westwoods, & 30 resettled in the field. On the walk also saw 2 fieldfares, 6 redwings, 1 bullfinch., many blackbirds, thrushes & robins,approx. 60corbids

35 Lapwing flew at around 600' above the ground heading west into Carmarthenshire at 13:55.

There is a crow having a 'dust' bath in the GREAT BIG FLAKES of snow on the roof outside our office window..., earlier: 8 pigeons, 1 song thrush, 1 pied wagtail, pair of jackdaw and a blackbird
