53 Linnet on wires near Trehenry Farm, Felinfach, but there may have been many more feeding in the field below. 37 Golden Plover were on Llandefalle Hill.

2 Ring Ouzel, pair Stonechat, male Reed Bunting , Mipits all over the place and a few Skylark. 7 Swallow flew north over Llanfaes this morning.

1 Redshank, 1 Lapwing, 3 Gadwall, 25 Teal, 6 Coot, 2 Tufted, 5 Mallard, 40+ BH Gull, 2 LBB Gull, 2 Pied Wagtail and the pair of Cape Shelduck. 2 Fieldfare were on Llandefalle Hill.

Jackdaw x 2 landed briefly ahead of a heavy shower to be chased off by resident carrion crows. Only my second record of Jackdaw in the village in 9 years, despite a large population at Rhayader 3 miles away.

Singing: 6 Blackbird + 2 others; 4 Robin; 5 Dunnock; 1 Greenfinch; 5 Chaffinch; 2 pairs House Sparrow; 3 Great Tit; 5 Blue Tit + 3 others; 3 Nuthatch + 1 other; 1 Treecreeper; 1 Blackcap; 1 Chiffchaff; 1 Green Woodpecker; 1 Greater-spotted Woodpecker : : : : on the canal: 5 Moorhen; 14 Mallard; pair Goosander : : : : perhaps some of the Mallard and the Goosander were refugees from the swollen River Usk : : : : also 18 Rook with bullocks and 6 Jackdaw.
