Little Grebe. diving just 1-2m from shore near boats and then all along the dam wall.

From Scout Lane Brecon down river until path joined canal and so to Talybont. On Usk 11 Goosanders, 6 Dippers, 1 Kingfisher, 51 Mallard. On canal 77 Mallard. Above Llanhamlach 2 Red Kites and 5 of total 8 Buzzards. Most surprising a large bat hunting in bright sunshine, and twice chased by a Pied Wagtail

Forgot to add re. 3-400 Fieldfares commuting from Brecs to Radnor across Claerwen by waterfall. Feeding on Hawthorns.

Male Blackcap taking elderberries in my Brecon garden today (late leaver or early arrival?) Little Egret flew past Llangasty on 23.10 (moved from Sussex into 25 Belle Vue Gardens, on corner opp. Hosp. a fortnight ago and have managed a few local outings between bouts of unpacking, putting up shelves etc)

Great afternoon on the lake just from Llangasty car park - 12 Gadwall, Yellow-legged Gull, 2 female Shoveler, drake Wigeon, 57 Teal, 128 Canada's, 63 Coot, 3 Lapwing, 62 BH Gull, 4 LBB Gull, 14 Cormorant, 93 Mute's + 8 juv, 6 Great Crested Grebe, Pochard, single Yellowhammer, Redwing and 4 Mistle Thrush to name but a few...

3 Woodcock in separate areas and 6 Crossbill(2fm. 4m) in plantation above Cwm Dwfnant on edge of Range, early this morning. Flock of c50 Ffare 9 Redwing feeding in fields lower down off Range.
