Atlas TTV - somewhat disturbed by Foxhunt and rain. Pleased with 20 spp in 2hrs, best being 2 singing Dipper, GWagtail, 27 Redwing, TCreeper, Nuthatch, Green Woodpecker. A further hour spent scanning several sq miles of upland grassland firing range produced 2 CCrow & an overflying Goldfinch!!

53 Lapwing, 14 Shoveler, 2 Gadwall, 8 Goldeneye, 12 Teal, 5 Goosander, 2 Pochard, 2 GBB Gull, 80 Canada's, 37 Cormorant, 8 GC Grebe, 24 Mute Swan. Also 14 LT Tit and a metal ringed Song Thrush.

4 Goldeneye, 14 Pochard, 11 Tufted, 2 Teal, 4 Wigeon, 17 Coot, 8 Mallard, 18 Little Grebe, 2 Mute Swan and a female Kestrel at north end (photo in gallery).

40 Golden Plover in field adjacent to Brechfa Pool (which appeared to be completely frozen over).

goosander 2, goldeneye 3, wigeon 5, teal 8, tufted duck several, pochard several, mallards, l-greebs, etc; buzzard, redpolls and bramblings over.

In an hour among gorse and bracken on the hill between Bwlch and Cwmdu I saw just 14 birds - 5 Ravens, 3 Robins, 2 Stonechats, and single Kestrel, Stock Dove, Wren and Reed Bunting.

Veiwed from Llangynidr road, but got there quite late so could have missed alot of brambling but i could see one flock of about 250 and then a few smaller flocks coming in at about 4:00pm. Yesturday they were in by 3:30.

Water Pipit showing well at 0800 and 1330-1500 hrs on spillway today. Usually in the company of Grey Wagtail and Pied Wagtail. Regular winter visitor has been present since the 13/12/07.
