1 Woodcock flushed, 3 Red Kite and 2 Raven. Nearby large mixed flock of Chaffinch and House Sparrow included a min. of 17 Yellowhammer.

2 x 2hr adjacent TTV's. 9 species in one, and five in the other!! 'Highlights' were a passing Peregrine and return of 9 Skylarks along the ridges, probable males establishing territory. Some song. Oh - and the wreckage of glider T49 that failed to top the ridge to return to Talgarth Gliding Club.!

2hr TTV - 27 spp - pretty boring but fair bit of song already: only 3 Wren, 38 Robin, 8 Song Thr, 12 Mistle Thr, 12 LTT, 1 Marsh T, 13 Redwing, 2 Nuthatch, 10 House Sp, 13 Chaffinch, 19 Siskin.

Treecreeper, 3 Greenfinches,50+ BH Gull, 50+ Starling's, 6 Blackbirds 3 Robins, 9 Mallards, 3 Crows

Best were ca 430 Canada Geese, 100+ Wigeon, 76 Goldeneye. Gull roost of 850 BHGull, 230 LBBGull and 1 GBBGull. No Starlings now. From the hide had 2 Reed Bunting and 2, possibly 3, Cettis Warbler seen well heading towards the wood to roost. Male Sparrowhawk through churchyard.

My couple of siskins have now exploded to 40+ along with 8 goldfinches, mostly feeding on sunflower hearts, and a few on nyger seed. (Though just over the border in Rads on a farm near The Begwns I was pleased to see approx 12 yellowhammers)

Group of eight bullfinches feeding on ash keys in the garden near bird feeders where there were chaffinches, robins, marsh tits, great and blue tits.
