Well done, Geoff - it is nice when two reports corroborate the same bird. The Osprey was seen by two fishermen there at 11am Thursday morning, successfully taking a fish! This bird must have found the Cantref stop-over from its northward migration to its liking.

3 Brambling feeding with Chaffinch in garden. Also 5 Jays feeding on the same seed.

Osprey over Cantref Reservoir on the A470 Saturday about 1400 Hrs - Has any one else seen it? This was my first ever Osprey!

9 Canada Geese, 1 goosander staying with the geese, a pair of Goldeneye feeding along the south bank. The Great Grey Shrike was back in the usual spot. Tuesday 10z

5 Godwit sp (probably Black-tailed) flew out over the lake from Llangasty point at 18:30. Earlier there was a single Chiffchaff near the small pool in Glasfynydd Forest at Belfont. 5 Wigeon, 19 Teal and 22 Skylark were at Llyn Traeth-bach.

75 Skylarks on farmland near Pont yr Hydfer bridge, Glasfynydd. Wheatear numbers increasing on Mynydd Illtydd common, also 2 Curlews there.

Whoopers still present at dusk (18:45). Nearby one chipping Snipe with probably 4 wintering heading off at dusk. Previous evening 3-6 Water Rail calling at Y Gors Trecastle (widespread wel flooded sub-sites) and 54 Snipe. North winds seem to have arrested migration so keep an eye on all freshwater sites.

140 Golden Plovers. Several Wheatears M + F

17 adult Whooper Swans still present at 16:10 near to water tower. Good views from Carms bank.
