Color ringed mute swan. Blue ring, yellow writting on right leg '7BUJ' and metal ring on left. Presumably not a local bird as Llangorse Ringing Group have not ringed any mute swans according to 2006 Annnual Report? Reported to BTO. Also present another mute, 168 Mallard, male mandarin and a moorhen.

From Llanfaes bridge 4 female Goosander plus a male in moult. Also a large mink near the doc' surgery wall was making feeding BH Gull's edgy.

100+ Fieldfares, 50+ woodpigeon;6 ravens; small parties of greenfinch and chaffinch; several meadow pipits.

26 Wigeon, 125 Mallard, 15 CGoose, 36 Little Grebe, 12 Pochard, 7 Tufteds, 6 female Goldeneye (first returns), 7 Cormorant. Also 100 Rook on pasture searching for leatherjackets, 2 Bullfinch, a Marsh Tit - and a foot-long Grass Snake squashed on the road!

Highlights at sites; Ffostyll - fem Merlin, juv Peregrine played with Corvids, 25 YHammer, 15 Fieldfare, Marsh Tit. Rhos Fawr - pr Stonechat, 60 WPigeon SW, i Lapwing. Pontybat Xroads maize stubble - 20 Skylark, 7 Stock Dove.

Woodcock flushed from roadside grass. Starling roost comprised at least 3,000 birds. Ring-tail Hen Harrier 18:04-18:11.

Brecfa Pool - 12 Lapwing, 84 Teal and 6 Redwing. Mynydd Aberyscir - Mixed flock of 60-80 Fieldfare with 20-30 Redwing. Also 2 Red Kite one of which was 'worming' with 2 Buzzard.

At 17:00 hrs; Hen Harrier [1 male], mixed flock of Fieldfare [c55], Redwing [c10] and Starling [c50] foraging. Also more Fieldfare [c200] over high at dusk flying north.
