Flock of about 30 redwing flew west over house this morning followed by a single fieldfare and smaller numbers of redwing, also a grey wagtail, pied wagtail, a couple of meadow pipits, several woodpigeons, a stock dove, 5 chaffinches and 2 goldfinch.

Three or four Tawnies calling this evening from different woodland spots around Lower Common / Glaslyn / lower River Clydach just to the west of Gilwern. This is in vice county Brecknock but also in political Monmouthshire.

Counted 296 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 1 Herring Gull mostly feeding and some resting on pasture at 9.30 this morning. Skylark also flew over Y Byddwn

Flock of c8 Crossbill feeding in Spruce Trees on the road between Tirabad & Cynghordy this afternoon

11-16 Crossbill at Llaneglwys Wood where there were several large mixed feeding groups made up of Redpoll, Siskin, Chaffinch and all the commoner tits and a feeding flock of 30 Linnet were on farmland near by. Earlier in the day a covey of 6 Red Grouse were in the beacons along with 14 Meadow Pipit. A Little Egret was on the Usk below Brecon bypass.
