A male Ring Ouzel was flushed from a path on the return leg of a walk through a site that was used regularly by this species up to 3-4 years ago. The male sang weakly and then alarmed loudly when a female Kestrel perched near a potential nest site. Eventually a female RO appeared and joined in the mobbing. So from "no occupation" on the walk out to "probably breeding" at this site within a few hours. Shows how difficult it is to prove occupation of any site with this species on a limited number of visits.
