Siskin Pwllgloyw 19/05/14 Andrew King D159449 Female found dead in garden. Ringed on rt leg. Grateful to Mr & Mrs Crozier for reporting it. BTO have informed us that it was ringed at Bridgnorth, Shropshire as a 2+ yr-old female on 16 February 2013. BTO calculate 92kms from ringing site, 457 days. As the bird had a brood patch, it strongly suggests the bird had a nest in/near Pwllgloyw.

Mute Swan Craig-y-Nos Country Park 25/04/14 Mark Waldron White ring on left leg, Green ring on right leg. Looked like it had a clipped wing. The BTO have replied to say that the rings described don’t match any ringing projects that they have registered for Mute swan. They wonder whether these are rings placed on by a swan rescue organisation.
Mute Swan Brecon Canal Basin 01/03/14 & 11/03/14 Mark Waldron Blue 7CTJ Present with mate
Lesser Redpoll Brecon 16.12.13 Keith Noble L073831 I read the ring from photos of the bird at a feeder in my garden. BTO reports that it was ringed as a 1st year male at Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory, Kent, on 7 Oct 2010, that is 1166 days and 339km distant.
Mute Swans Llangorse Lake 29.12.13 Mark Fisher 2 mute swans with blue rings 7HNL and 7HVV 7HNL (ZY4125) was ringed as a 1+ yr female at Llandrindod Lake on 6th September 2012. 7HVV (ZY5677) was ringed as a cygnet (one of 6) on the Montgomery Canal, Abermule on 16th September 2013. Strikes me as quite a long journey that for a Swan of 7-8 months.
