Siskin Brynhyfryd, Scethrog, Brecon 28/02/11 Peter Seaman British Natural History Museum. X789523 8.7.11 - BTO have now responded with ringing details. This male Siskin was found dead under a window at Scethrog on 28.2.11, having been ringed at Llangasty 9 days earlier on 19.2.11. A distance of 3km.
Goldfinch Glasfynydd Forest 05/12/10 Andy Davis METAL Natural history museum ring on right leg: X35?774 Despite numerous attempts to fully read the tag I missed one digit, however, bto successfully identified as a female ringed at Upton Magna, Shropshire on 27-Feb-2009 , 110km away. This individual was a stunner with exquisite markings and stance, the picture (in gallery )does not do it justice. The bird only stayed for 3 days during a really cold period during early Decmeber during which temps went below -10°C.

Mute Swan Brecon Canal Basin 14/09/10 Mark Waldron X2769 This is the third year in a row that this swan has returned to the canal basin mid-September.
Mute Swan Llangorse Lake pontoon 05/09/10 Andrew King Metal tag inscribed Z91187, right leg. Male of a pair with its family of 3 cygnets.{This male was born at Llandrindod Lake in 1997, ringed there in early 1998 with both this BTO metal ring and a large blue colour ring since lost, and has raised broods at Llangorse for at least the last 3 years, probably much longer}
Mute Swan Llangorse Lake 21.8.10 Mark Waldron Blue ring '7FEX' in white on right leg. Ringed at Pencerrig Lake near Builth Wells as a cygnet on 16/11/08.
Reed Warbler Llangorse Lake 10 July 2010 Kelvin Skyrme Two reed warblers feeding at south end of lake, one with blue ring, one with silver ring, Too distant to discern any numbers or letters Photo of silver ringed individual available. (Thanks for the report Kelvin. I noted a red colour-ringed Reed Warbler by the hide at Llangasty on Saturday too. This is all the handiwork of Llangorse Ringing Group who are undertaking a study there. Use of colour-rings increases the chances of getting future sightings anywhere between here and Africa where they winter)

Canada Goose Llangorse Lake, Crannog 29.05.10 Mark Waldron Metal ring 5257645 Information from Llangorse Lake Ringing Group: this bird was ringed as a probable male (by weight) at Llangorse Lake on 5th July 2009.
Lesser Black-backed Gull Llangorse Lake 21.5.10 Mark Waldron CEV in red lettering on black ring on left leg with metal ring on right leg This has actually turned out to be a blue ring. The bird was ringed by the Severn Estuary Gull Group as an adult on 24.11.2007 at Stoke Orchard landfill site, Gloucestershire. This is the first record received.
Mute Swan Llangasty, Llangorse Lake 21.5.10 Mark Waldron Blue 7FSC on right leg, metal BTO on left Ringed at Wern Brigg, Nantglas near Llandrindod on 14/09/09 at a cygnet from a brood of 8. Most of its siblings died soon after fledging.

Black-headed Gull Llangasty 10.04.10 Mark Waldron White ring on left leg with '2N95' in black lettering. Metal ring on right leg. Adult in breeding plumage with second adult bird. This bird was ringed as a nestling as part of a study of BHG's breeding in the Cotswold Water Park on the Glos/Wilts border on 13/06/08 at Cleveland Farm, Wiltshire.

Mute Swan Brecon Canal Basin 16.03.10 Mark Waldron Blue '7CTJ' Present with mate who was noted to have a golf ball sized growth on its right heel
Mute Swan Glasbury bridge 13/03/10 Mark Waldron Blue ring 7FM in white lettering Present with mate metal ring Z91189 (formerly Blue 7WG). 7FM was ringed as an adult female on Llandrindod Lake on 1/12/97. After nesting there for a max of 2 years she moved to Caer Beris in Builth Wells. Her mate, Z91189, is one of her own cygnets ringed at Llandrindod on 13/8/98 and they have remained paired since nesting at Caer Beris.
