Blackbird Peregrine Falcon eyrie, Breconshire 18.12.15 Andrew King LA36779. Blackbird ringed on Lundy Island, Bristol Channel in October 2007. Distance = 119 kms. Ring found (under NRW licence) by South Wales Peregrine Monitoring Group. A metal detector was used across the base of a Raven's nest used by a pair of Peregrine Falcon. The Blackbird was most likely taken as prey by the falcons. If you wish to learn of other wildbird ring recoveries (species and their history)found by this method at Peregrine nests in this county, then scroll back to pages 2/3 of this ringing page. Fascinating reading.
